A refined take on a classic, Ianthe Nouveau distils Liberty's iconic Art
Nouveau design into a harmonious monochromatic version. First created as a
wallpaper pattern by French artist Rene Beauclair in c.1902, Ianthe was
revived by Liberty in 1967 and has since appeared across a wide range of
layouts, products and colourways. This pared-back interpretation is modern
and minimal, highlighting the design's enduring elegance.

ABOUT THE CLOTH

This is Ansedonia, Manteco's wool flannel - pressed, with the weave visible,
and a smooth warm handle. At 240gsm it is perfect for a range of garment projects.

It is made from MWool, Manteco's recycled wool. Wool waste - factory offcuts
and discarded garments - is mechanically shredded and respun, without
chemicals. The colour is not dyed: fibres are sorted by shade first, and the
colours come from blending them. Liberty print the design onto it using
waterless digital printing.

Part of the Manteco x Liberty Fabrics collaboration, made to mark Liberty's
150th anniversary. Woven and printed in Italy.

At this weight it is a jacket rather than a coat - shirt-jackets, unlined
jackets, pinafores, skirts, trousers. Wearable across far more of the year
than you might think.
