Denim Deep Dive

Be supported to sew the denim project of your choice in 3 sessions over 5 weeks, in a small group with a maximum of 5 people.

Best suited to intermediate-level sewists who would like to accelerate their skills, you'll receive individualised guidance specific to your chosen project, which may cover things such as:

• Approaches to sewing denim on a domestic sewing machine
• Choosing the right denim for your project
• Seam finishes
• Topstitching and pocket embellishment
• Shortening metal zips
• Hardware installation
• Buttonhole sewing

To get the most out of this workshop, it's recommended your chosen project is something a bit more challenging- jeans, denim jacket, flight suit or dungarees.

Due to the nature of this workshop, bookings will close one week prior to the start date, to ensure that participants receive and act upon additional information that will be provided after booking.

When: Thursdays 30 July, and 13 and 27 August 2026, 6 pm to 8.30 pm

Target Sewing Level: Intermediate

You need: pattern of your choice, pre-washed and ironed fabric, suitable thread, sewing machine in good working order, sewing machine manual, all accessories for sewing machine (feet, bobbins, power cord, foot pedal), basic sewing kit, food or snacks

Skills covered: will depend on individual choice of project

Included: 7.5 hours of tuition with a maximum of 5 students in the class, use of equipment and machines in space (large cutting tables, sewing machines, overlockers, irons and ironing boards), tea and coffee, use of kitchen space, discount on items purchased while attending session.
