Description

Bring Your Own Project Classes are designed to meet you where you are at in your sewing journey. You decide what you'd like to make and you'll get targetted support specific to your project and requirements. As long as you already know how to use a sewing machine, you are welcome to attend these sessions.

If you are still relatively new to sewing, haven’t sewn for a long time, or just want some support to improve your skills, you may benefit from attending these daytime sessions to help you progress.

These sessions are held on Friday mornings. Attend as often as you want or need- this could be weekly or less frequently, depending on your personal requirements. You will be supported to work on garment projects of your choice, with guidance on choosing patterns appropriate to your skill and experience level.

About your tutor: Rebecca has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Specialising in teaching beginner-level sewists, she uses her 15 years’ experience as a high school teacher to inform her approach. She can help unlock vocabulary, foundational techniques and skills at the level needed by the individual, helping them to bridge the gap between where they are now and where they would like to be with their sewing.

  • When: Fridays 10 am to 1.30 pm
  • Where: Weft and Warp Studio
  • Target Sewing Level: Beginner Plus and up
  • You need: sewing machine in good working order, sewing kit, pattern, fabric and notions, food or snacks
  • Included: use of equipment and machines in space (sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch, Laurastar ironing system), tea and coffee, use of kitchen space, discount on items purchased while attending session.
  • Skills covered: will vary depending on projects chosen by participants!

We want Weft and Warp to be a safe and respectful space for all people. This course welcomes women, men and anyone identifying otherwise.

Enrolment in this workshop is subject to Weft and Warp’s Attendance and Cancellation Policy. Please read this policy before making your booking. A minimum of four (4) enrolments are required for the workshop to proceed.
